Turn right or left
Regulatory signsSign no. 2.39OSR art. 24
What the sign says
Two directions are allowed, never the third: the driver must go right or left, and carrying straight on is forbidden.
The exam trap
A two-arrow order is still an order: it does not open a free choice, it closes off the direction missing from the sign.
Study topic
Signs and road markings
The signs are the official depictions by the Federal Roads Office, from the annexes of the Signalling Ordinance (SR 741.21): official works, unprotected under Art. 5 of the Copyright Act. The explanations, by contrast, are written from federal law — never taken from a third-party catalogue.
