Direction sign without destination
Information signsSign no. 4.51.1OSR art. 54a
What the sign says
It belongs to cycle, mountain-bike and wheeled-device route signposting: where naming a destination is unnecessary, the arrow alone marks the way.
The exam trap
These signs are not addressed to drivers: they mark a parallel network that crosses the road without following it.
Study topic
Vulnerable road users
The signs are the official depictions by the Federal Roads Office, from the annexes of the Signalling Ordinance (SR 741.21): official works, unprotected under Art. 5 of the Copyright Act. The explanations, by contrast, are written from federal law — never taken from a third-party catalogue.
