Loose chippings
Warning signsSign no. 1.12OSR art. 8
What the sign says
Loose chippings cover the road, usually after fresh surfacing. Grip drops as on a wet road, and flying stones hit whoever follows too closely.
The exam trap
Braking and steering turn vague: slow down beforehand, in a straight line, and open up the gap — at speed, thrown chippings break windscreens.

The signs are the official depictions by the Federal Roads Office, from the annexes of the Signalling Ordinance (SR 741.21): official works, unprotected under Art. 5 of the Copyright Act. The explanations, by contrast, are written from federal law — never taken from a third-party catalogue.
