What the sign says

Black arrows on white: the panel shows the layout, the number of lanes and, where relevant, whether they decrease or increase.

The exam trap

It, not a warning triangle, announces the loss of a lane. A rule applying to one lane only is reproduced in the middle of that lane's arrow.
